Good grief! I've not posted anything for absolutley AGES! Which is mad really, because BT (Boy Teenager) is now BT (Boy Twenties), and GT the same (except she's a girl).
Because I hardly use this site now (pesky thing called work is getting in the way), and because those fine Gentlemen at Wix want to charge me 300 quid to keep this running, I've decided to close it. But I am hoping to post the old blogs and maybe some new ones on Facebook. Come and find me if you wish - Alec Heathcote.
As I type, GT is preparing for her final exams at Cambridge. She's learnt Latin and Ancient Greek. submitted countless essays and whacking great thesis. Two exams separate her from freedom from the intensity of academia at one of the best universties in the world (gets he brain from Gin - yup still called Gin ans still swigging it like bottled water). Blimey.
BT, having got a good job in insurance, is currently solo backpacking around Thainland and Vietnam. Yup the lad that was too anxious to go in the back garden 6 years ago is travelling alone and a long way from home. And he's been told he is being promoted at work when he gets back. Blimey.
And what a place to finish this blog (at least on this site). What a set of journeys we've all bin on. Hopefully there's plenty more to come.

Delighted to get this update for so many reasons! I cannot believe the transformation. You must be beside yourselves. I cannot imagine the relief as a parent knowing you won't have to worry about your son every day of your life. Of course, you will anyway, but now you know he is capable and functioning and can exist without you, which is your goal as a parent.
I meant to look you up after Arsenal were crowned Champions. Thought I'd see more from you on that. Were you too excited to speak? Surely you're still celebrating!?!
